Edson Names Industry Veteran
Tripp Estabrook International Export & OEM Manager
March 15, 2007 - New Bedford, MA USA Edson International is pleased to announce the appointment of industry veteran Tripp Estabrook as Export & OEM Sales Manager for the company’s Sailboat Hardware division. Estabrook will oversee Edson’s sales efforts to sailboat builders in both the United States and overseas. Outside the US, he will also be in charge of Edson’s independent agent network, working with them to increase market share of Edson Steering Systems in their respective countries. Estabrook replaces Sales Manager Fred Johnson, who has left Edson to pursue other opportunities.
“Tripp’s first-hand knowledge of boatbuilders around the world, as well as his hands-on experience as a rigger, surveyor and offshore sailor will be a huge benefit to Edson,” says Edson International President Will Keene. “Most of our OEM customers already know Tripp and the level of professionalism he brings to the table. Those who don’t will be immediately impressed by his level of technical knowledge and skills. We are extremely proud to have him on board.”
Tripp brings to Edson a wealth of knowledge and experience in the marine industry. Prior to joining Edson, Tripp was president of Associated Marine Enterprises, LLC of Newport R.I., a marine consulting firm specializing in marine surveying, yacht project management and sailboat racing rule measurement and development. Tripp also spent 15 years as East Coast and Worldwide OEM Sales Manager for Harken, Inc., overseeing their extensive international distribution network. Tripp has also been employed by many well-regarded marine businesses including Bristol Yachts, Holby Marine and Pinnacle Design Group.
In addition to Tripp’s business experience in the marine industry, he is also an accomplished sailor in his own right. He’s a licensed 100 ton captain with extensive offshore racing, race management and charter experience. This level of experience will be an invaluable asset when servicing Edson’s customer base, which includes many of the world’s most respected boatbuilders.
